Borders, Hairlines and Legible Type
« BackWe recommend that you do not use borders around your document. If you must use a border make it at least ¼ all the way around. Do to the limitations of trimming equipment borders may appear uneven. The thinner the border the more noticeable the uneven borders will be. We cannot be responsible for the appearance of uneven borders.
Do not use hairlines thinner than .25 points they may not print.
Keep your typical body copy text size between 9 and 12 point for maximum readability. Do not use type smaller than 7 point.
Small text will appear fuzzy when printed in four colors. Keep text smaller than 12pt in black. Photoshop will typically build black text in four color process so if you need to use small text we suggest you use a page layout program to set your text.
Be careful when you are “knocking out” white text from a background. Smaller fonts with thin lines will fill in making them difficult to read.
