Rich Black

If you want a rich looking vibrant black you should use a built black using the following CMYK values C 60% M 40% Y 20% and K 100%. Using just black 100% K will produce a grey black. For Business Cards use the following Rich Black formula C 80% M 80% Y 70% B 90%.

Do not use Rich Black for normal text only on text 24 point or larger and large back areas heavy in black. Smaller text will print fuzzy if you use Rich Black.

Be careful to keep Rich Black consistent throughout your document. Make sure that images or logos with a black background have the same values as the black area they are placed over or you will end up with a noticeable difference between the two blacks. This will not be apparent on your screen or printout but will be noticeable when printed.
